چکیده
Abstract Background In this study, we combined ultrasound and Doppler parameters to conclude the most accurate applicable method for fetal lung maturity assessment. The purpose is reduce risk of neonatal respiratory distress by assessment through instead amniocentesis. Results A total 120 women were included. examination was performed at a gestational age ranging between 30 37 weeks delivery occurred within 72 h from ultrasound. After birth, 19 fetuses diagnosed with RDS. assessed showed varying sensitivity specificity but presence proximal tibial epiphyses highest (91%) (95%) followed distal femoral 90% 84% specificity. placental grade III 81% 74% amniotic fluid free - floating particles an 83% 63% specificity, while echogenic thalamus 77% 79% respectively, prediction maturity. By using biometry , could report that BPD 82.8 93.5 mm, AC 295 322 FL (62.7-72.1 mm) correlated mature lungs. Regarding indices increased resistive index umbilical artery > 0.69 pulmonary 0.78 RDS UtA RI values 0.43 0.66 noticed in vs (0.42-0.57) non-RDS. MCA are also higher 0.77–0.88 0.74–0.79 On other hand, analysis colon grading echogenicity relation liver no significant value Conclusion Ultrasound good predictive accuracy considered valuable non-invasive procedure However, single parameter alone show definitive sign

Hyaline membrane disease (HMD) is a disorder primarily affecting premature infants and is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in this population. The disorder is characterized by widespread atelectasis and an inability of the neonate to expand his or her lungs. Secondary hemor rhage, edema and desquamation of alveolar lining cells then occur which further compromise respira tory func...

متن کاملValidity of lamellar body count as a fetal lung maturity assessment in twin pregnancy.
Fetal lung maturity assessment in twin pregnancy has been discussed, but is still controversial. The purpose of this study is to predict the occurrence of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) using lamellar body count (LBC) and analyze the validity of LBC for fetal lung maturity assessment in twin pregnancy. Three-hundred two amniotic fluid samples were obtained at cesarean section from 29 to 38...

The relationship between the enzyme phosphatidate phosphohydrolase (PAPase) and lecithin/sphingomyelin (L/S) ratio in amniotic fluid was evaluated in normal human pregnancies and in several pregnancies complicated by Rh isoimmunization. An increase in PAPase activity in amniotic fluid appears to parallel the increase in L/S ratio after 33 weeks gestation in normal subjects. These data suggest t...
متن کاملRoutine diagnosis of fetal lung maturity.
The respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is the most frequent postnatal complication of prematurity having a 25% lethal outcome even today (KEUTH [6]). The same author reports that RDS affects 8% of an unselected population of premature infants and 20% of a negatively selected population found in clinical departments for premature babies. Hence avoidance of prematurity is one of the most importa...
